Original title:Gut-derived lactic acid enhances tryptophan to 5-hydroxytryptamine in regulation of anxiety via Akkermansia muciniphila

In this study, antibiotic-treated (ABX) pseudo-germ-free mice were used to conduct key causal validation experiments to demonstrate the role of gut microbiota in tryptophan metabolism and anxiety regulation. (Conducted by Gnotobio Biotechnology)
Research results presentation:
In ABX-treated mice, mono-colonization with A. muciniphila or combined supplementation with lactic acid was performed. Supplementation with A. muciniphila, particularly in combination with lactic acid, restored metabolic balance, enhanced 5-HT activity, and alleviated anxiety, demonstrating the specific regulatory role of the lactic acid-A. muciniphila axis.
