SPF Animals
SPF (Specific Pathogen-Free) animals are standard laboratory animals bred in barrier environments that are free from research-interfering pathogens but maintain a normal microbiota. They serve as the "gold standard" material for modern biomedical research. Through strict microbiological control and regular testing, they eliminate the interference of latent infections on experimental results, thereby ensuring the accuracy and reproducibility of scientific data as well as the biosafety of experimental procedures.
Strain Background
An inbred strain with black coat color. It is the first mouse strain to have its genome fully sequenced and is regarded as the "standard" laboratory mouse. It is relatively active and aggressive in temperament, and is sensitive to diet-induced obesity, atherosclerosis, and type II diabetes.
